2005
At the beginning of 2005, Psyche performed as special guest on DIARY OF DREAMS European tour from February 4th through to March 5th, followed by Psyche performing their first ever ROMO NIGHT, and a return to NUCLEAR NATION in Sweden on the same weekend at the end of March.
"The 11th Hour"
Psyche's 11th official full length album contains the following titles: "Bloodcurse", "Yearning", "Defenseless", "15 Minutes", "September Moon", "Until", "The Belonging Kind", "Justice And Damnation", "11th Hour", "Buried Alive", "Theme 7", and "Assassin Reprise". The songs are a dark soundtrack documenting the rites of passage through the netherworld of the soul. Recorded mainly with Darrin's previous collaborator Per-Anders Kurenbach, but including a farewell track with Remi Szyszka, and a guest appearance by Christian Wirsig, "The 11th Hour" finds Psyche rejuvenating all the elements that made them unique in the first place garnering new fans and a Nr.1 position in the German Alternative Charts (DAC). Released through Accession Records in Europe, Metropolis Records in North America, and now Irond Records in Russia bringing Psyche more international recognition than ever before!
We had a fantastic time performing at Haus Auensee for Germany's prestigious Wave Gothic Festival. The line-up included Per-Anders Kurenbach, and Stefan Rabura on keyboards, and an all new setlist adding "Unveiling The Secret", "Tears" and "The Sundial" to the mix of tracks from "The 11th Hour". In June we had an exclusive summer performance at the MOON FESTIVAL in Fredrikstad, Norway followed by Psyche taking part of the new, high profile Amphi-Festival in Gelsenkirchen, Germany. Also the first time as headlining act at a FLAG PROMOTIONS event in London, England. On August 26th, Psyche performed a special live set of songs from their 80's releases at NEON WELT in Zwischenfall, Bochum. After joining AYRIA in Cardiff, UK at the INTERZONE Festival and again perfroming in Sweden, Psyche returned for the 20th Anniversary of their career as well as that of the club Zwischenfall in Bochum!
Before the end of the year, we had been back to Poland, played as part of the Endless Danse Macabre Festivals in the Netherlands, and Belgium as well as played for the first time ever in Australia!

The reviews of the new album have been very good, and it seems "15 Minutes" has been singled out for the dancefloor whereas "September Moon" is considered to be at the heart of the album's sorrowful best! Last year...
The X-Rated mix frenzy that continued with the 12" vinyl release at werocklikecrazy.com is also nearly sold out. This version contained another 6 further floor-shaking mixes of "X-Rated" from James White, Ra-X, Bangkok Impact, Cursor Miner, Goteki, and none other than Jimmyjoe Snark III of THE WEATHERMEN, The release went a long way into establishing this genre-bending little gem from "Babylon Deluxe", so get your hands on one of the last copies while they're still hot! For those of you who missed out, the "Sushiboy Mix" of "X-Rated" is available in it's original version alongside the illustrious MISS KITTIN, ASCII DISKO, CLIENT and other Electroclash types on the double CD collection ELECTRIC POP Vol. 3 presented by BOMB BOUTIQUE. The "Moonitor Mix" from Seb of ICON OF COIL has also been immortalized on Psyche's best of 1991-2004 entitled "Legacy" on Metropolis Records. This exclusive North American release is available to order in Europe directly from our merchandise or Indietective as always.

Also in 2004...
Psyche performed in Stettin, Poland at BALTIC WAVE TRANSMISSIONS FESTIVAL with Chris Ruiz of AND ONE on keyboards.
We returned to Poland 3 weeks later with Per-Anders Kurenbach for 2 more shows in Lodz and Warsaw. We decided to present 1 new song "15 Minutes" and were very pleased with the positive resonance. We also enjoyed a special debut concert in Capetown, South Africa. It was the final event of 2004.
Additional recordings from last year are; Psyche's version of The Cure's "Faith" on OUR VOICES from Equinoxe Records, and Darrin's guest vocal on "Space And Fiction" on the PARALLEL PROJECT debut entitled "Fusion". Which was also a Top Ten in Germany's DAC.
Also available is Psyche's remix of "Come In Paradise" for the return of TRISOMIE 21 on their limited 3 CD edition of "Happy Mystery Child".
Early in 2004, Remi Szyszka decided to part from Psyche to start a new project with Jörg Kotowski under the name NONPOPTALE.
Darrin is guest vocalist on the song entitled "Explore". From now on, Darrin will maintain the sole representation of Psyche while collaborating with various musicians who share his initial vision and conceptualization.
For Darrin's own side project; fans of the more mellow side of Psyche (albums such as "Intimacy" for example) may enjoy the release of LOUNGE. LOUNGE's "Everyday" contains 11 tracks of cool elegance and edgy grooves created by Niels Hesse and Marco Drewes of ELEKTROHANDEL with Darrin on vocals.
A remix contest was recently underway at http://www.acidplanet.com/contests/lounge and the top 5 mixes will appear on the forthcoming LOUNGE EP to follow soon.

Interviews regarding "Babylon Deluxe" and "Legacy" are online, and thanks to all who voted Psyche's 10th album as the best international synthpop release of 2003 for Australia's FIEND magazine. We feel this album is a real milestone in the ever growing discography since 1985.

"The Quickening", our CD-Single extraordinaire has been burning up the dancefloors, and now appears as the opening track on Germany's Zillo Magazine's DARK SUMMER 2003, and ORKUS' Club Hits Vol. 5 in different mixes. This title, along with "Anonymous Skin" has been remixed by several great electro-artists such as NEGATIVE FORMAT, TECHNOIR, HEADSCAN, MEGADUMP, and even an appearance from Per-Anders Kurenbach (Psyche member from 1995-1999). The 65 minute long, 11-Track CD-single is an experience in itself.

Although PSYCHE began in the 80's and we do enjoy playing early hits, please don't expect too many "oldies" in our set for now. We are living for the future!
PSYCHE continued touring all over the world in 2003. At the beginning of last year we experienced our first time in Finland, and have appeared for the first time in Greece and London, UK shortly after returning from a small tour in Spain. Our return to Poland was again a highlight among our continuing international appearances and the U.S. dates we enjoyed in October/November. Also a show in Norway, and a major German tour as part of the Accession Records label festivals throughout December. All dates and links are on the concerts page.

INSIDE has made a fabulous surprise return on the scene with the album "Extremities". For those who've never heard of this project between THE ETERNAL AFFLICT and PSYCHE, now is your chance to catch the highlights of this supergroup which existed between 1995-2000 and spawned the Hits "Vampire", "The Whip" and "November Day". This special release contains 18 Tracks, 8 of which are taken from previously unreleased songs recorded with Julia Beyer of TECHNOIR!! LAST YEAR:
We
are back from our concerts in Scandanavia. What a fantastic week-end it
was!!
Thanks to Henrik once more for Gotebörg, and Brian for Copenhagen
(where Psyche hadn't played since 1992!)
The crowd in Sweden was great, but in Denmark they partied with us like
we haven't experienced since INFEST in Bradford.
Since it was the last Psyche concert of 2002 we were really happy to
end this year on a high note although the serious work
on our next album starts soon.
Many
have asked if the new version of "Unveiling The Secret" we play
live is going to be released?
Well yes, it has been available in the live version on Psyche's own
LIVE 2K. This CD-R will however goes out of print
by the end of this year, so get yours now!
Here we are giving you an excerpt from Psyche's tribute to the
PLASMATICS. This is Darrin's favourite punk band from his youth, and
the
tribute version of "Butcher Baby" has been created with former PSYCHE
member Per-Anders Kurenbach, as Per now plays in a punk band called THE

We are pleased to announce the release of "Endangered Species" via Accession Records in Europe. Our collection of remixes and new titles placed # 3 in the German Alternative Charts (DAC). ART OF FACT RECORDS in North America have released our remix album with different artwork and the now sold out "Misguided Angels" as a bonus CD!
4 new tracks, "The Beyond", "Damaged Soul", "Memento", and "Eleven" are joined by brand new remixes of "The Hiding Place", "Renegades", as well as "Damaged Soul" and "Memento" plus of course a few more more surprises. MASSIV IN MENSCH has mixed us once again, and 2 of the new tracks were re-worked with Marcus Geltner and Toby Bartsch of SIXTY WINTERS.
This year began with several international concert appearances. We
had a fantastic time presenting our new songs in Bordeaux, France at
the
end of April. We gave concerts in Montreal, Canada and appeared at a
festival in Hamburg with The Crüxshadows.
Of course a major highlight was our appearance at "Synthpop Goes The World"
in Toronto followed by a return to New York and Detroit, and some new
territories of North America. Also our first concert in Holland since
Psyche supported Anne Clark there in 1991. It was great to play in The
Hague and we hope we'll be back next year.

Since it's release in Europe last year, "The Hiding Place" maintained a place in the Top Ten of the German Alternative Charts (DAC) for 8 weeks. 5 of them in 2nd place! Incredible! 2002, and it's been 17 years since PSYCHE's debut release
of "Insomnia Theatre" in 1985.
To reminisce on where it all began we have decided to release one
of the earliest performances of PSYCHE ever recorded. "Live At
Belvedere Hall" was performed by Stephen and Darrin Huss in
Edmonton, Alberta on Halloween Night 1983. The very first version of
"Brain Collapses" as well as "Insatiable" were performed that night.
Also "Torture" written with Dwayne Goettel+ (later of SKINNY PUPPY). As
an added bonus among many, we've included "Krieg", our first synth-pop
song also written with Dwayne way back when. The title, although it is
the German word for war, refers in fact to a disco where a wholly
different kind of music and fashion battle took place. Krieg was in
fact the location of the very first PSYCHE perfomance (then a trio)
which was documented on December 13, 1982! Yes folks, PSYCHE has been
around that long.
