|2001||THE HIDING PLACE
A milestone re-establishing Psyche at the top of their genre. With overwhelming ease this album takes one on a journey through nostalgia, and the sound of tomorrow without missing a beat. A soaring collection of emotional intensity and shimmering electronics. A spiritual hi-tech tour de force.
As a follow up to "The Hiding Place" the new Psyche extends their sound and songcraft with a collection of remixes in collaboration with SIXTY WINTERS, MASSIV IN MENSCH, NEGATIVE FORMAT and ELEKTROHANDEL. Additionally a string of brilliant new musical adventures are represented by "The Beyond", "Memento", Damaged Soul", and "Eleven".
The 10th full length album represents the pinnacle of PSYCHE brilliance; tribal rhythms, dark trance, and power electropop tunes full of surprises. Highlights include the electroclash tinged, internet webcam themed "X-Rated", the funky parable "Edge Of 17", swinging metaphysics of "Gods And Monsters", and the deadly infectious "Final Destination". Of course the album version to the hit club single "The Quickening", and the beautifully experimental "Equinoxe", "Stormtrooper", and "Snow Garden" are equally as thrilling. This album combines all the diversity of Psyche's musical and lyrical experience to date, and confirms the vitality and relevance of their journey from the early 80's well into the 21st century.
A special US compilation of Psyche's second decade of highlights from 1991 to 2004, including the previously unreleased collaboration with Per-Anders Kurenbach called “Foolish Heart”. Also the 2001 smash "Sanctuary" (single version), a re-edit of "Heaven In Pain", the infamous “Goodbye Horses” and the Moonitor remix of “X-Rated,” which are exclusive to this collection. All remastered and available only on Metropolis Records.
THE 11TH HOUR
Now after 20 years of creating their moody electronic pop, Psyche came up with this dark soundtrack documenting the rites of passage through the netherworld of the soul. Recorded mainly with Darrin's previous collaborator Per-Anders Kurenbach, but including a farewell track with Remi Szyszka, and a guest appearance by Christian Wirsig, "The 11th Hour" finds Psyche rejuvenating all the elements that made them unique in the first place garnering new fans and a Nr.1 position in the German Alternative Charts (DAC). "15 Minutes" and "The Belonging Kind"
are rocking the alternative dancefloors, while "September Moon", and "Yearning" turn the lights down low, and add candles and red wine to the melancholia at the final hour.
Original summaries were written by Tadeuz (BODYSTYLER).
Other than PSYCHE, singer Darrin has experimented with the additional industrial project entitled VANISHING HEAT. The first album "Hallucination" was released in 1990 on the DOSSIER label. The 1994 album "The Itch" (more aggressive and intense) was released by M.F.T.E.Q. and distributed by the DISCORDIA label (now TRITON).
